Rock City – Norma J. Fiene, 73 of Rock City, Il passed away on December 1 st at UW Madison Hospital, Madison, WI surrounded by her family. She was born on March 29, 1947 in Freeport, Il to Chris and Pearl (Wolfe) Kloster. She graduated from Dakota High School in 1965. She married the love of her life, Delbert Fiene on June 1, 1968 at St. Paul Church of Epleyanna in Davis. She was a current member of St. Paul and served in many capacities. She worked at Micro Switch in Freeport, Il for a total of 38 years. She also worked for her brother at his taxidermy studio when her children were young.
She enjoyed attending her kids and grandkids school and sporting events, spending time with family, gardening, traveling, boating, camping, snowmobiling, cooking – especially making ground cherry pies for her siblings. She was always looking for an opportunity to pull a prank on someone and was even telling her famous "I am one letter short of Normal" to the hospital staff. She was an active member of the Rock City Fireman's Club Women's Auxillary.
Norma is survived by her loving husband of 52 years and her children Brenda Mayberry of Davis, IL and Mark (Shelly) Fiene of Rock City, IL. She was a loving grandmother to her 4 grandchildren, Austin Cashman USAF Honolulu, HI; MaKenzie Fiene of Rock City, Nolan Mayberry of Davis, and Madelyn Mayberry of Davis.
Her siblings, Harold Kloster of Pecatonica, Kenneth (Janet) Kloster of Durand; Jerry (Judy) Kloster of Davis and Neva (Edward) Barker also of Davis; her twin sister, Nancy (Ken) Brungraber of Cottonwood, AZ and her sister-in-law, Judy Kloster of Durand as well as many nephews, nieces cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother-in-law, Cleo and Ruth Fiene, her brothers, Vernon and Richard Kloster, sister-in-law Janice Kloster, sister-in-law Thelma Kloster and nephews, Richard Kloster Jr. and Kelvin Kloster.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec 11 th from 4-7pm at St. Paul Church of Epleyanna. Services will be on Saturday, Dec 12 th at 10:30 also at St. Paul Church of Epleyanna with a brief visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:30am that morning.
A friendly reminder to please be respectful of the family and other guests by wearing a mask and to please practice social distancing at all times.
A memorial has been established in her name for St. Paul Church of Epleyanna and the Rock City Fire Department.
