Freeport: Norma J. Lestikow, 61 of Freeport died Friday December 18, 2009 at U. W. Hospital in Madison, WI. Born July 4, 1948 in Freeport she was the daughter of Robert Shippy and Elizabeth Shippy Sigafus. She married Russell Lestikow on July 8, 1972 in Pecatonica, IL. Norma was a very active member at First United Methodist Church and past Sunday school teacher; she was a Registered Nurse and was employed by FHN Memorial Hospital working primarily in the Pediatric and O.B departments for over 20 years. She then worked as a nursing instructor at Highland Community College for over 18 years. She was an avid Highland Cougar Basketball fan for both men and women teams but most of all Norma loved spending time with her grandchildren. Norma is survived by her husband, Russell; Mother, Elizabeth Sigafus of Pecatonica; one daughter, Faith (Kevin) Lincicum of Waukesha, WI; one son, Matthew Lestikow of Freeport; three sisters, Nancy (Randy) Kleindl of Davis, Norine (Robert) Ehrler of Freeport and Tammy (Eric) Sager of Lena; one Brother, Perry Shippy of Pecatonica; Five grandchildren, Peggy Lestikow, Quinn Lincicum, Christopher Lestikow, Aidan Lincicum and Owen Lincicum. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Shippy and her step father Verald Sigafus. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday December 23, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Freeport with the Reverend Dr. Katherine Thomas Paisley officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. A memorial has been established.
