Norma R. Schmertman, 85, formerly of Cedarville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie, Wisconsin with her family by her side.
Born February 23, 1928 in Freeport, Illinois she was the daughter of William and Martha (Albrecht) Waller. She married John Schmertman September 8, 1950 and he died November 8, 2006.
Norma and her husband Jack were active founding members of the Stephenson County Antique Engine Club. They enjoyed living in the home they shared for many years in Cedarville.
Norma enjoyed her flower beds and working puzzles.
After Jacks passing she remained in her home that she loved until her health forced her to move closer to family.
Her family was very precious to her. She dearly loved her granddaughters and was awaiting the arrival of her first great grandchild in October.
Surviving are her son, Randy (Cynthia) Schmertman of Menomonie, Wisconsin; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Eric) Arvidson of Fridley, Minnesota and Amanda (Dean) Ziemienski of Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Ruth Louise; infant son, William Edward; and one brother, Leroy Waller.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Walker Mortuary
