Norman J. Janicke, 71, of Freeport, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born April 13, 1937 in Freeport he was the son of Emil and Evelyn (Wilson) Janicke.
Norman worked at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company for over 30 years until his retirement.
He was a member of Richland Free Methodist Church and served as president of the Cemetery Committee.
Norman served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are two daughters, Jodi L. Janicke of Orangeville and Connie S. Janicke of Lena; 2 sisters, Sharry L. Janicke and Sandra K. Janicke both of Freeport; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; 1 half brother; and two half sisters.
Funeral service will be Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Lyle D. Babcock of Richland Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Center Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
