Freeport
Olive L. Olson, 96, of Freeport, died Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Freeport Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Born September 4, 1918 in Carroll County she was the daughter of Charles and Iva ((Hatfield) DeVine. She married Alvin Olson in 1945 and he preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Savanna High School and Rockford Business College.
Olive worked 25 years for Micro Switch and 15 years in the Catalog Department at Sears.
Her memberships included First Lutheran Church, Eagles Auxiliary, and Ladies of the Moose.
Surviving is her son Bruce (Bonnie) Olson of Freeport; her daughter, Judy (Jim) Ryan of Freeport; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gerald and his wife, Alice Olson; her infant sister; 1 brother; and 1 great grandchild.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Walker Mortuary.
There will be a visitation 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Walker Mortuary.
Interment of her cremated remains will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
