Opal Virginia Kanne, 93, of Freeport, died Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born October 6, 1916 in Freeport she was the daughter of Leslie and Edith (Herman) Askey. She married William Kostenbader May 16, 1936 and he died May 28, 1968. She married Stanley Kanne September 28, 1970 and he preceded her in death.
Surviving is her son, Perry (Sharon) Kostenbader of Freeport; 1 granddaughter, Amy (Randy) Fisher of Freeport; 2 great grandsons, Zachary and Matthew Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 2 sisters, Ruby Geiseman and June Murphy.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary.
Interment of her cremated remains will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
A memorial has been established in her name.
