Freeport-Orville L. Miller, 80, of Freeport, died Monday June 21, 2004 at the Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born May 14, 1924 in German Valley he was the son of Edward and Christina (Jacobs) Miller. He married June Simler April 24, 1948.
He was a truck driver for Bob Smith Transportation, which became South Bend Freight Lines. A World War II veteran he was a member of Teamsters Union #325 and an avid Stock Car Racing fan.
Surviving is his wife, June of Freeport; two sons, Orville E. (Linda) Miller and David E. Miller both of Freeport; one daughter, Pamela (Jerry) Mills of Kirksville, Missouri; one sister, Clarice "Tootsie" Kraft of Freeport; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; 1 brother.
Funeral service and internment will be Saturday 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with the Reverend John Tilstra of Baileyville Reformed Church officiating.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial has been established in his name.
