Orvis L. Meck, 89 of Freeport died Sunday October 24, 2010 at Provena St. Joseph Home Freeport. Born January 26, 1921 in Freeport he was the son of Titus T. and Elsie E. (Hartman) Meck. He was a lifelong member of Freeport Mennonite Church and attended Park Hills Evangelical Free Church. He worked many years on the family farm and neighboring farms. He also worked for the Shelter Workshop which later became Malcolm Eaton. He is survived by a brother Wayne Meck of Freeport; two nephews Kevin (Lori) Meck of Kempton, IN, Tim Meck of Clinton, WI; great nephews and Nieces Nathan, Matthew, Katie Meck of Kempton, IN and Marilyn Meck of Juda, WI; step sisters Alice Ross and Lois Simler both of Park Falls, WI; and friend Eldon Cooke of Freeport. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister Carol, sister-in-law Nancy Meck, step mother Mary Simler Meck and a step brother Paul Simler.
