Obituary

Pamella Lillie Wieck, 78 of Freeport died on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at her son's home with her family by her side.  She was born on February 29, 1944, in Rockford, a daughter of Lloyd and Orthella (Riem) Koehner.  She graduated in 1962 from Orangeville High School.  Pam married her high school sweetheart and love of her life of 58 years, Larry Wieck on October 5, 1963, in Freeport.  She was employed by Western Newell Company for 3 ½ years and left after the birth of her first child in 1966.  Pam had the privilege of being a stay at home mom from 1966 to 1984.  She worked only seasonal for the Swiss Colony in Monroe, WI and part time at the Orangeville Grade School and High School cafeterias.  She then returned to Newell Company in 1984 for 22 years before retiring in 2006.  Pam was diagnosed in 1986 with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma that she bravely fought for half of her life by keeping a strong, positive attitude.  Pam was a member of the Orangeville Rebekah Lodge for 33 years where she was soloist for the district meetings.  She shared a love of music, playing her piano, decorating her home, pencil drawings, word search puzzles and collecting Siamese cats and kissing angels figurines.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Freeport where she was housekeeper for 8 years and served on committees when needed.  Pam & Larry enjoyed bowling on single and couples leagues.  Pam & Larry also traveled to Hawaii & Branson, MO many times, you would always see them together walking hand in hand.  Pam loved life, adored her family and always had a friendly smile for others she would meet.  Pam found great joy watching her children and grandchildren from the sidelines of their many sporting events and school activities.

Pam leaves her family and friends who cherish her memories and celebrate her life.  She is survived by her daughter Vonda(Kelly) Olson of Poy Sippi, WI; son Chad(Lesa) Wieck of Byron; granddaughters: Kortnie Christen of New Berlin, WI, Jenna Wieck of Beloit, WI, Jessica Wieck and grandson Colton Wieck of Byron; step granddaughter Ashley Olson of Apple River and brother Gary(Joyce)Koehner of Freeport.  Private family services to be held with assistance of Walker Mortuary.  A memorial has been established in her name by her family.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com.
