Patricia Ann (Little) Gearing, age 75 of Freeport, IL, was reunited with her husband, James E. Gearing in heaven on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 following a wonderful life and a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. She was born November 5, 1941 to Henry and Virginia Little. Pat was raised with three beautiful sisters; Myrna Loy, Nancy Lynn, and Peggy Joy.
Pat married Jim on December 6, 1958. Jim was a man of God and an Illinois State Policeman. They resided in Alton, IL, Belvidere, IL, Rock Grove, IL, and Freeport, IL. Pat was an Activities Director for Parkview Homes and a woman who truly loved the Lord. Pat and Jim had two loving children, Diana Lynn currently a performer in Branson, MO and Steven Gearing currently a pastor at the Gospel Outreach in Freeport, IL where Pat was a member.
Pats pride and joy was her family, including four grandchildren, Nick, Matt, Stephanie, and Bobby; and eight great grandchildren, Angelina, Mia, Xander, Kailee, Holden, Aiden, Addi and Kayden. She had a special love for her pets, Belle and Sparky and for her extended family, sons-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Pat was a caring, loving, gentle soul who loved to laugh and never knew a stranger, quickly turning friends into adopted family members. Pat had a special gift of making a positive impact in people's hearts and lives in a short time. She was a talented vocalist, creative homemaker, and insightful soul. Pat and Jim left behind a legacy of love.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 26th at 2:00 pm at the Gospel Outreach of Freeport with a visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery in Orangeville, IL. A memorial fund has been established for the Gospel Outreach of Freeport.
