Freeport-Paul F. Kryder, 81, of Freeport, died Sunday, August 13, 2006, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born January 23, 1925 in rural Cedarville he was the son of Charles and Helen (Frank) Kryder. He Married Ramona Liphart on May 17, 1950 in Freeport.
A World War II Army veteran he was with the 530th Engineer Group stationed in New Guinea and the Philippines.
He worked at Micro Switch for 40 years.
His memberships include Cedarville Emmanuel Evangelical Congregation Church in Cedarville and Quarter Century Club. A 33rd degree Mason, he was a 50 year member of the Orangeville Masonic Lodge, where he was a past Master of the Lodge.
He served 10 years as the Cedarville Village Clerk, several years as the Cedarville Cemetery Sexton, and was on the Cedarville Fire Department for 40 years.
An avid golfer and bowler he played on both the Senior Leagues and the Micro Switch Leagues.
Surviving is his wife, Ramona of Freeport; one son, Steven (Shirley) Kryder of Freeport; one daughter, Sally (Dennis) Anderson of LaGrange Park; one sister Ethel Homan of Cedarville; and 6 grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph, Benjamin, and Caitlin Kryder, Jacob Anderson, and Lyndsey Stemm.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be Wednesday 11 a.m. at Cedarville Emmanuel Evangelical Congregation Church with Reverend Jack Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Cedarville Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary where at 7 p.m. there will be a Masonic service conducted by the Orangeville Masonic Lodge.
A memorial has been established for Cedarville Emmanuel Evangelical Congregation Church.
