Paul Ernest Laird was born on July 2, 1974, in Stephenson County, Freeport, Illinois to Donald Benjamin Laird and Crystol Darlene (Krout) Laird. He was the sixth child born to Donald and Crystol.

Paul lived most of his life in Freeport, Illinois; except for a short time in his late teens when he resided in Swink, Colorado.

Paul was many things in life, an assembly line worker, a roofer, press operator, and in his last job he worked as an employee in a local restaurant.

Paul, through his life enjoyed physical activity. He would often ride his bike many miles, and was an award winning dancer in his youth, making him the most popular guy on the dance floor.

Later in life he loved gardening, and enjoyed discussing the best kind of strawberries or tomatoes to grow. He also enjoyed aquarium fish, and had an aquarium for most of his adult life. He loved a good debate especially about political issues.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Benjamin Laird, and one brother, Christian Gregory Laird who died at birth.

He leaves behind his daughters, Kaitlin Morgan Laird, and Natanna Brittany-Anne Gertrude Jacobs; mother, Crystol (Krout)Laird; siblings, Debbie Phanuef, Lynn (Craig) Happel, Jan (Kelly) Laird, Robin(Dan) Saiz, Sara(Clark) Paulsen, Scott(Emily Swenson) Laird, Heather(Bill) Porch, Ben(Chen, Jing Jing)  Laird, Joshua Laird, and Brandon(Libby Barbee) Laird. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews; and great nieces, and nephews.

There will be a visitation held on June 21st beginning at 2pm at Walker Mortuary, immediately followed by a service at 3pm.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
