Paul Kevin Ranney, age 64 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. He was born May 25, 1960 in Pekin, IL, the son of the late Don and Linda (Healea) Ranney. He was a graduate of Pekin High School.

Paul worked for Comcast for 45 years. He was a member of St. Mary's/St. Joseph Catholic Church of Freeport where he proudly served as a Deacon. He also administered Holy Communion to the home-bound. He had many hobbies but especially enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, and fishing. Paul was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Ranney of Pekin, IL; children, Sara Meyers of Lenore City, TN, Chad Ranney of Salt Lake City, UT, Ryan (Evelyn) Ranney of Chicago, IL, and Christopher Ranney of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Daylen Meyers, Henry Ranney, Grant Ranney, Dorothy Ranney, and Ida Ranney; and brother, Steve (Donna) Ranney of Pekin, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeport. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Condolences may be shared with his family at www.walkermortuary.com.
