Freeport-Paul V. Roberts, 82, of Freeport, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at his home.
Born February 6, 1922 in Williamsburg, Iowa he was the son of Albert L. and Naomi (Hakes) Roberts.
He was a graduate of Williamsburg, Iowa High School and Cedar Rapids, Iowa Business College.
A World War II Army veteran he served in the Pacific Theatre.
He married Doris L. Roen August 9, 1969.
For 30 years Paul was employed by Moorman Mfg. Co. of Quincy, Illinois where he was a District Sales Manager for Northeastern, Illinois. In 1983 he took early retirement and then worked for Blackhawk Production Credit Assn until retirement.
A 32nd degree Mason he was a member of Excelsior Lodge, No. 97, Scottish Rite Bodies, Tebala Temple, Freeport Shrine Club (past president), Freeport Lions Club, Am vets, Elks Lodge No. 617, and St. John United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Doris of Freeport; one son, Larry (Sheryl) Roberts of Spokane, WA; grandchildren, Jason (Carrie) Roberts of Eugene, OR, Adam Roberts of Spokane, WA, and Stacey (Nate) Boomer of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; one step-son, Reverend Scott (Faye) Roen of Beaver Dam, WI; step-daughter, Lana (Pete) Kopplin of Iron River, WI; step-grandchildren, Nicholas Roen of LaCrosse, WI, Ryan Schulte of Tampa, FL, Brittany Roen of Beaver Dam, WI, Leah (Jason) Mitchell of Woodbury, MN, and Amy (Adam) Bloomquist of Buffalo, MN; and six great- grandchildren.
His parents and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be Friday 11:00 a.m. at St. John United Church of Christ with Reverend Donnley Dutcher officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg, Iowa.
Friends may call Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
