Paula D. Henkels-Kunkle , age 76 of Rock City, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. She was born October 3, 1947 in Chicago, IL; the daughter of the late Paul Henkels and Ella Burt. Paula married Raymond D. Kunkle in 2000.

She was an avid reader and gardener who loved the outdoors. She especially loved fishing, hiking, traveling, and visiting National Parks.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Kunkle of Rock City, IL; daughter, Dawn (Ross) Jensen of Sycamore, IL; siblings, Karl (Mary Ann) Henkels of Fort Wayne, IN Bertha Mueller of Antioch, IL , Ray (Jana) Henkels of New Berlin, WI, and Janet (Rob) Baran of Chatsworth, GA and; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harlan, Larry, and John.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pecatonica, IL. A memorial fund has been established. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
