Freeport
Pearl L. Brockill, 96, of Freeport, was taken to her Heavenly home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 11, 2010.
Born August 26, 1913 in Polo she was the daughter of Arthur and Mamie (Linton) Reed. She married Victor Brockill June 3; 1945.They had 62 years together before he passed away in 2006. She was employed by the Hotel Freeport for many years before she retired.
She and her husband enjoyed forty years at their summer cottage at Lake Delton, Wisconsin where they often had children and grandchildren spending time with them and also entertained many friends through the years.
Pearl will be remembered for her friendliness and zest for life. She loved animals, her favorite being her last dog, Dolly, a little white poodle who was her faithful companion.
Surviving is daughter, Peggy (Leon) Siegmeier of Rockford; granddaughter, Shelly (Gary) Phillips of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grandsons, Patrick Brockill of Oxford, England and James Brockill of Seattle, Washington; Great Grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Phillips of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 1 sister, Thelma Bach of Belvidere; 1 brother, Max Reed of Machesney Park; her sister-in-law, Beatrice Day of Delray Beach, Florida; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Reverend Raymond Brockill; beloved grandson, Scott Siegmeier; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
The family wishes to thank her wonderful devoted caregiver, Olga Jeffrey for the tender loving care she provided so faithfully. Also many thanks to FHN Hospice for their kind service.
Funeral service will be Thursday 10:30 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church. Visitation will be Thursday 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Grace Episcopal Church.
