Cedarville, Penny L. Schwendinger, 42, of Cedarville, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at her home in Cedarville after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 23, 1961 in Eldora, Iowa she was the daughter of Gene and Genevieve (Badger) Bloudek. She married Leo "Lee" R. Schwendinger October 1, 1988 in Dubuque, Iowa.
She graduated from West Delaware High School in Manchester, Iowa and attended Northeast Iowa Community College and Western Illinois University.
A former Activity Director at Oakley Courts in Freeport and a former Domestic Abuse Advocate, she was a proud "stay at home" Mom.
A member of Immanuel Lutheran Church she participated in AYSO and YMCA youth league.
Surviving are her husband, Lee of Cedarville; one son, Kyle A. Schwendinger of Cedarville; her mother, Genevieve Bloudek of Manchester, Iowa; two sisters, Pamela Brown of Fulton, Illinois and Melanie "Lynn" (Dwayne) Hettinger of Dundee, Iowa; one brother, Robert (Rebecca) Bloudek of Ridgecrest, California.
Her father preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on April 17, 2004, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Willis Schwichtenberg and Vicar Brad Klein officiating. Burial will be in the Forestville Cemetery in Dundee, Iowa.
Friends may call Friday 4 to 7 p.m. on April 16, 2004, at Walker Mortuary.
To honor her wish, in lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name for her son's future education.
