Ralph C Dyson, born August 4, 1938 passed September 13, 2023 at the age of 85.  He was the son of Bernard G and Virginiamae (Matthews) Dyson, Sr.

Ralph Served 12 years in the United States Navy and 16 years in the U.S. Army. He worked for Ultra Sonic for 5 years in Freeport and Kable News for 8 years in Mt. Morris.

His memberships included, Commander of the American Legion Post 139, pas 13th district American Legion Commander, past VFW Commander Post 998, Membership Chairman for the Am Vets Post 32 and 40/8 of the Legion.

Ralph was an avid hunter, fisherman and camper. He sincerely enjoyed his time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving are 1 daughter Michelle (Joseph) Moore of Fraser, MI and 1 son Darien Dyson of Sabula, IA. 2 sisters Helen (Walter) Lameyer and Katherine (Cal Wescott ) Rowland both of Freeport. 3 brothers Francis (Gretchen) Dyson of Bailey Co., Robert Dyson of Deming, NM and Larry Dyson of Orangeville, IL. 2 Granddaughters, Brittney Wallin of DeKalb, IL and Kylee Indelicato of Bryant, IA and 1 Great Grandson, Carter Robinson of DeKalb, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Bernard (Sonny) Dyson and John Dyson, 1 sister Vivian (Peachy) Gempler, 1 brother-in-law Nate Gempler, 1 sister-in-law Sandy Dyson, maternal and paternal grandparents several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation and graveside service will be at Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum Friday, September 22nd.

Visitation is from 10-11 and service is from 11-12.  He will be receiving full military honors at the service.
