Savanna, IL: Ralph W. Morrison, 85, formerly of Freeport, died Wednesday December 2, 2009 at the Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna. Born March 20, 1924 in Freeport he was the son of George and Helen (Hahn) Morrison. He married Phyllis Morrow and she preceded him in death in 2005. Ralph was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible, he was a WWII army veteran serving in 4 out of the 5 major campaigns in the European theatre during the war. He worked at Micro Switch for 30 years before retiring. Ralph is survived by two sons, Wesley (Shelly) Morrison of Williamston, S. Carolina and Gerald (Susan) Morrison of Arlington, TX; Four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and one sister. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Walker Mortuary with the Reverend Dr. Burliss Parker of the First Church of the Open Bible officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Walker Mortuary. A memorial has been established.
