Randall Alan Barr, age 58 of Argyle, WI, formally of Rock City, IL, passed from sudden illness on January 17, 2026. He was born on January 10, 1968 at Freeport Memorial Hospital; the son of the late Harry and Ruth (Henze) Barr. He graduated from Dakota High School in 1986.

Randy was a trueborn farmer. He owned and operated his own farm for many years, then worked for Stamm Farm Systems in Lena. After that, he worked as a farmhand on various farms in Illinois and Wisconsin.

He enjoyed being with family and helping others. He also enjoyed gardening, raising poultry, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Randy is survived by his son, Taylor (Chelsea) Barr of Rockford; daughter, Ashli Barr of Freeport; grandson, Grayson Barr of Freeport; two sisters, Bonnie (Larry) Campbell and Carol Barr both of Dakota; four brothers, Roger (Connie) Barr of Morrison, Ronald (Deanne) Barr of Dakota, Richard (Tina) Barr of Rock City, and Rodney (Christine) Barr of Freeport; employer/best friend, Casey Flannery of Hollandale, WI; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry & Ruth (Henze) Barr; sister-in-law, Tina (Schuur) Barr; and niece, Amy Barr.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A family burial service will he held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dakota Cemetery in Dakota, IL. A celebration of life will take place on March 7, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Leisure Lane Bowling in Monroe, WI. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
