Randy
Samples
October 23, 1958 – May 13, 2019
Randy Samples Sr, age 60, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Born October 23, 1958 in Nevada MO., the son of Mary R Scott and the late James W. Samples. The happiest day of Randy's life was when he married Laurie Bower on June 21, 1997.
Randy was raised most of his life in Rockford. After serving 3 years in the Army, he was a truck driver for 15 years, living all over the country, always saying it was a great way to see the country and getting paid for it. Later in life coming back to Rockford and founding Classic Limousine for 18 years until he retired because of cancer.
Randy was an avid race fan, driver, and NASCAR official. Throughout the years he went to several cup races. He raced for several years at the Rockford Speedway. Some people knew him as the "Cheap Trick" car. Forced to give up driving, Randy became a NASCAR official at the Rockford Speedway. He will be missed.
