Ray G. DiMarco, 88, of Freeport, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Lincolnshire Place in Loves Park.
Born October 4, 1926 in Ferentino, Italy he was the son of Ambrose and Francesca (Tartaglia) DiMarco. On June 21, 1953 Ray and Margaret D'Inverno were united in marriage. Margaret preceded him in death on September 7, 2006.
Ray was a welder and pipe fitter working for Local 23 in the Rockford area until his retirement.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Ray was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW and Sacred Heart's Society
Surviving are two daughters, Marian DiMarco of Schaumburg, IL and Anne (Jeff) Schwede of Medinah, IL; four sons, Stephen (Cheryl) DiMarco of Freeport, IL, Blaise DiMarco of McConnell, IL, Guy (Kathi) DiMarco of Plano, TX and Matthew (Deborah) DiMarco of Lucas, TX; ten grandchildren and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Freeport with Father Robert Camacho officiating. There will be a visitation from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for Heartland Hospice and Alzheimer Association.
