Freeport
Raymond J. Ifert, 84, of Freeport, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born October 10, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan he was the son of Clarence and Helen (Englehardt) Ifert.
He married Shirley A. Shilling January 28, 1978 in Rockton.
Ray was a graduate of Freeport Senior High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.
He was a member of Delta UCC Church in Delta, Wisconsin.
Surviving is his wife, Shirley; daughters, Cathy (Jon) Staben and Julie (Greg) Munda all of Freeport; his son, David (Crystal) Ifert of Cedarville; sister in-laws, Donna (Guy) O'Donnell of Painesville, Ohio and Julie (Harv) Walton of Woodbury, Minnesota; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild due in July; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Phyllis.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be held Friday 10 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Dr. Reverend Donnley Dutcher of St John United Church of Christ officiating.
Interment of his cremated remains will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
A memorial has been established for the Delta UCC Church in Delta, Wisconsin.
