Raymond Jasien, 77 of Lake Summerset died at home surrounded by family on Friday, November 24, 2017. He was born May, 11 1940 in Jamesville WI. He moved to Lisle, IL and was raised at St. Joseph Orphanage. In 1964 he married Shirlee Abrams on July, 11 1964. From this union they had two sons, Bill (Peggy) and Rick (Darcy); four grandchildren, Matt, Morgan. Rachael and Bryan.
Ray served his country in the Army from 1963-1965, serving 13 months in Korea. When he was honorably dis-charged in 1965 he returned to continue being a Flat Roofer for over 38 years working in the Chicago land area with Local #11, retiring in 2000. He moved to Lake Summerset in 2004 to enjoy his hobbies of fishing, yard work, antique shopping and restoring his finds. He loved sharing time with his son's on fishing trips to MN, Canada, and OH and teaching his grandkids fishing, swimming, and kayaking at the lake. Ray was a Die Hard Green Bay Packer Fan.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirlee; son, Bill (Peggy) and Rick (Darcy); grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, Rachael and Bryan; sister, Gloria (Bob) Kovac; brother, Frank (Stana) Jasien; and Sister, Sister Irene Jasien O.S.B.; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Durand, IL at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 9 th 2017. A memorial fund has been established for Monroe Clinic Hospice.
