Ray Schmoll of Loves Park Il, passed away on August 15th 2023 at Lena Living Center. Ray was born on March 22, 1933 in Avon South Dakota, the son of Phillip and Alma (Gentele) Schmoll.  Ray married Deloris (Galam) on October 1st, 1955.  Deloris passed on March 5th, 1989. Ray and Deloris had one son Don, he passed November 26th 2018.

Ray was in the army and served his country from April 1953 to March 1955 in Germany with the 321st Battalion.

Ray loved to fish and had many tales to tell.  He also loved to garden and sharing his garden items with the senior center near him.

He loved his flowers and sharing them with others and never turned down flowers from anyone, so he could add it to his collection in his yard.

He is survived by his sister Vi Bushman of Dixon Il; Brother Arnold Schmoll of Shannon Il; Daughter in law Karen Schmoll of Machesney Park Il; Grandchildren, Donald and Arnold Wanda; Great grandchildren Tyler, Alexandra and Zachrey ; several nieces and nephews and his loyal and wonderful dog "Rocky".

He is preceded in death by his wife, Deloris, his son Don, his sisters Lenora Barker, Lydia Craig, Esther Stimpson, Elizabeth Oorlog and his brothers Jake Schmoll and Leonard Schmoll.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 22 with a visitation beginning at 10:30am and a service at 11am all at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL.  Condolences can be shared at www.walkermortuary.com
