Reet Turn, 58, of Freeport, died Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Home Bridge Nursing Center in Belvidere.
Born November 14, 1950 in Freeport she was the daughter of Karl and Eva (Kalvik) Turn.
Reet was a 1970 graduate of Highland Community College and a 2003 graduate of Columbia College.
She worked at Western States, MetLife, and Swiss Colony.
Reet loved reading, especially anything to do with history. A big hearted person Reet loved animals and would do anything for a friend.
Surviving is her brother, Rein (Sherry) Turn of Valley Park, MO; 2 nieces, Amanda L. (Benjamin) Turn-Shamback of Mobile, Alabama, and Andrea L. (Gunnar) Anderson of Portland, Oregon; 1 nephew, Andrew R. Turn of St. Louis, MO, 2 great nieces, Edie and Lilith Shamback of Mobile, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be Saturday November 7th, 2009 11:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary. Interment of her cremated remains will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
There will be a gathering Saturday 10 a.m. until time of service at the Mortuary.
A memorial has been established in her name.
