Reinhard Jeschke, 86, of Rock City, died Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Liberty Village in Freeport. Reinhard was born February 6, 1923, in Johnston, Rhode Island, a son of Friedrich Johannes and Klara Else (Hartzsch) Jeschke. Reinhard married Doris Price on December 26, 1944, at Amity Lutheran Church in Lena, IL. Reinhard was a life long farmer in the Rock City-Dakota area.He was also active in church and community activities. He served at the Dakota Presbyterian Church as Elder, trustee, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school treasurer, and choir member. In the community he served on the Dakota Board of Education and the Stephenson Service County board.
He is survived by his wife Doris, children John (Monica) Jeschke of Rock City, Paul (Donna) Jeschke of Mazon, Carol Jeschke of Freeport, Dale Jeschke of Seattle, WA.; grandchildren Mark (Kristin) Jeschke, Karl Jeschke, Stephen (Erin, fiancee) Jeschke and Thomas Jeschke, Sarah (Ryan) Zeller, Matthew (HeiDee) Meier, and Sharon (James) Ricker; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Clifford (Carol) Jeschke of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his son James.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4pm until 8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Dakota Community Presbyterian Church with Rev. L. Timothy Kidd officiating.
Private burial service will take place prior to the service in the Rock Grove Union Cemetery in Rock Grove.
Memorials may be made to Kemmerer Village Children's Home or the Dakota Community Church
