Davis – Richard G. Buss Sr., 82 of Davis, IL died Friday, November 29, 2019 at Walnut Acres, Freeport, IL. He was born in Freeport, Il on August 5, 1937 to the late Ervin and Frances (Daughenbaugh) Buss. He was a 1955 graduate of Dakota High School. He married Delores Young March 30, 1958 in Freeport. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Epleyanna, Davis, Il where he served as a church Deacon. He was also a member of the Stephenson County Farm Bureau. He farmed all of his life and drove milk truck. He taught snowmobile safety, served on the Davis Fire Department, EMT on Tri-District Ambulance, Davis Town and Country, and he was a Cub Scout Den leader. He also drove school bus for Durand after retirement. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, traveling and camping.
He is survived by his his daughters, Kelly Buss of Lena, Il and Kim (Brad) Clark of Rock City, IL. His sons Richard (Susan) Buss Jr., Kevin (Donna) Buss both of Davis, Il and David Buss of Rock City, IL. His brothers Rev. Dennis (Cindy) Buss of Dakota, IL and Kenneth Buss of Nicholasville, KY. He has 8 grandchildren, Erik Buss, Antonio Buss, Keith Brown and Adam Clark, John Buss, Jason Buss, Danielle Snyder and Kristi Buss. There are also 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, RaeJean Mick and sister-in-law Rosalee Buss
Services will be held on Saturday, December 7th at 1:00 pm at St. Paul Church of Epleyanna, Davis, Il. Visitation will be immediately prior starting at 11am – 1pm.
