Richard Heinrich Davis, 79, of Davis, died Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Medina Nursing Center in Durand.
Born October 12, 1936 in South Bend, Indiana he was the son of Thomas and Kathryn (Heinrich) Davis. He married Patricia Dolan August 29, 1959.
Richard worked for AT&T Bell Labs for 23 years. He then worked for Thompson Steele in Franklin, Illinois until his retirement.
He was a US Navy Korean veteran.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Durand.
Richard was a former Police and Fire Commissioner in Romeoville, Illinois.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia of Davis; his children, Christopher (Elizabeth) Davis of Palatine, Illinois and Kenneth (Jinna) Davis of Montgomery, Illinois; 2 grandsons, Michael and Timothy Davis; and his grand doggies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Brother Tom Davis.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Durand. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for St. Mary St. Patrick Catholic Church / Durand / Irish Grove, Illinois.
