Richard "Dick" Donaldson, 79, of Ridott passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. Born on September 3, 1931, in Oregon, he was the son of John and Catherine (Gocken) Donaldson. On September 20, 1958 he married Rosa C. Trampel in Oregon. Dick was a 1949 graduate of Byron High School. He was extremely proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. A lifelong farmer, Dick also delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and sharing the farm with them. Surviving are his wife, Rose of Ridott; sons Rick of Dixon and Mike of Ridott, and daughters, Kim (Dale) Weitekamp of Raymond and Michelle (Greg) Guilliams of Freeport; five grandchildren Sarah, Sam and Anne Weitekamp and Jeffery and Danny Guilliams; brothers Bob of Leaf River, John (Patsy) of Oregon, Pat of Rockford; sisters Jerrie Mathews of Byron, Sharon Meline of Custer, WI and Sheila (Roger) Lemke of Byron and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Timmy.
