Richard D. "Dick" Keeney, 81, of Freeport, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016, surrounded by his family, at his home.
Born December 19, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri he was the son of Woodrow and Mildred (Herzog) Keeney. He married Madonna Samples December 20, 1980.
Dick was a retired bus driver for District 145 school system.
He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Madonna of Freeport; his children, Dawn Turnbough of Steelville, Missouri, Daniel (Okye) Keeney of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Dwayne Keeney and Darryl (Lynn) Keeney both of Festus, Missouri, Debra Pons of O'Hatche, Alabama, Michaela Keeney, Christopher Keeney, and Ian Keeney all of Freeport; his nephew, Clayton Keeney of Missouri; Carson Keeney and many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twins; and 1 brother.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Following the service a luncheon will be served in the church hall.
A memorial will be established.
