Richard M. Stebbins , age 50 of Pecatonica passed away at home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. He was born June 27, 1967; the son of Marlin and Donna (Fugate) Stebbins. He was raised in the faith of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He graduated from Freeport High School and attended Highland Community College. Richard married Dana Stevens on April 19, 2018.

He had worked as a fork lift operator at Bay Valley Foods in Pecatonica for 28 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 754/Pecatonica Plant. Being raised as a farm boy, Richard had a love for the outdoors; fishing, camping, grilling and mowing lawn were a few of the things he enjoyed most. He also loved working on cars and he was an excellent woodworker. He was loved by many and will always be remembered for being kind, loving and generous; he would do anything for anyone. He was a big man but also a big teddy bear.

Richard is survived by his wife, Dana Stebbins of Pecatonica; mother, Donna Stebbins; daughters, Drew and Brook Stebbins; granddaughter, Naomi; brother, Kevin Stebbins; step-children, Meghan Pizzolato and Anthony Stevens; and mother-in-law, Georgette (Randy) Gaul all of Freeport, IL. He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Stebbins and brothers, Mark and Jeffrey Stebbins.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Sunday, May 6 ^th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with a service beginning at 2:00 pm at the I.S.M.A. House in Pecatonica, IL. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
