Richard A. Zimmerman, age 57 of Orangeville, IL, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. He was born July 31, 1963 to Leo and Norma (Richtemeyer) Zimmerman. He was a 1981 graduate of Orangeville High School and went on to attend Highland Community College. Richard married Kristi Allen on August 25, 1984.

In his younger years, he worked on his uncle's farms in Orangeville and Dakota. He later worked for Dean's Foods and was currently working at Berner Foods, where he had been for the last 35 years. Richard was a member of Bethel UMC of Afolkey. He was also a member of the Cedarville Snow Traveler's Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling and most of all spending time with his family.  He loved music and never missed a chance for a good time with friends and family. He will always be lovingly remembered as a hardworking, caring and giving man.

He is survived by his wife, Kristi Zimmerman of Orangeville; sons, Alex (Haley) Zimmerman of Milwaukee, WI who are expecting his first grandson in January and Brandon Zimmerman of Dixon, IL; his parents, Leo and Norma Zimmerman of Afolkey, IL; siblings, Gerry Zimmerman of Galesburg, IL, Pam (Rob) Woolever of Dakota, IL, Marsha (Craig) Daughenbaugh of Dakota, IL, Mark Zimmerman of Rock City, IL, Debbie (Neal) Obert of Orangeville, IL, and Jenny Bovee of Moline, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Private family services will be held at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name. Condolences may be shared with his family at www.walkermortuary.com.
