Ricky L. Kuhlemeier , age 63 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home on Monday, October 16, 2017. He was born April 15, 1954; the son of the late Vernon T. and Leona (Moss) Kuhlemeier.

He worked for Eagle's Foods for over 20 years. He also did mechanical work and had a passion for working on cars. He enjoyed going to flea markets and collecting NASCAR memorabilia. His favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Ricky was an avid bowler and belonged for four different leagues. He was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Ricky is survived by his daughter, Rachel (Shawn) Schmelzer of La Valle, WI; grandchildren, Autumn and Katie Schmelzer; brother, LaVerne Kuhlemeier of Freeport; sisters, JoAnn Julius of Harington, TX, DeAnn (Jerry) Edler of Freeport, Nancy (Randy) Baker of Freeport, Becky (Tom) Becker of Blanchardville, WI, and Susan (Martin) Keller of Atlanta, GA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Justin Dwight; brothers, Vernon W. and Larry P.; sisters, Carol Jean and Bonnie Lee; and former wife, Debra (Knodle) Kuhlemeier.

His family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care.

Services will be held Saturday, October 21 ^st at 12:00 pm in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport with a visitation beginning at 11:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
