Rita Lyn (Kirchberg) Krupke, 77 of Freeport passed away at home surrounded by her loved one.  Born April 15, 1947 to Cletus A. and Marie C. (DeFrane) Kirchberg.  Rita completed her education by going back to school and completing her GED at the age of 50.  Joseph and Rita were married on December 18, 1998, at Bethany United Church of Christ.  Rita was a stay-at-home mom while her children grew up.  She worked at Micro Switch and Cub Foods.

Rita loved her family and grandkids, attending her grandchildren's events whenever possible.  She loved shopping on QVC and playing games on the computer. Paggle and Spider Solitaire were her favorite games.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph Krupke; Son, Brett (Mimi) Monigold; daughter, Heather (Robert Scheidegger) Oborne; Granddaughters, Morgan and Danielle Monigold; Grandsons, Dalton and Derrick Oborne; Stepdaughters, Tricia (John) Kelso, Krissy DuFour, Mary Jo Krupke; Stepson, Joseph (Sarah) Krupke; Step Grandchildren, Alex and Rebecca DuFour; Addison and Landon Krupke and special friend, Judy Schandfelt.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Cletus and Marie Kirchberg.  A memorial has been established in her name for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

There will be a visitation held on Thursday, Dec 12, 2024 beginning at 11 am at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens followed by a service at 12pm.
