Robby Lawson, age 75, of Dakota, Illinois passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, at home with family.     He was born on October 30, 1947, in Searcy, Arkansas.  He was the son of James R. and Ida I. (Creek) Lawson.  Rob graduated from Dakota High School in 1966.  He married his high school sweetheart, Vicki Gundry on March 31, 1966.

He began his 37-year career at Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. in March of 1971.  He retired in March 2008.   He loved his Chicago Bears (win or lose) and going to the casino.

His grandkids and great grandkids were very special to him, and he was very proud of them all.  Rob is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Vicki; sons Jim (Brenda), Marc (Alice) and Scott (Kim); grandchildren Bryce, Alex (Gianna), Bryant (Abby), Isaac (Audria), Lucas (Glady), Makenzie, Zack (Sam), Keaton (Dakota) and step grandchildren Matt, Vicki, Skylar and Ian.  He was also survived by eight great-grandchildren and his sister Patricia Geiken. He was predeceased by his parents.

Friends and family are invited to his Celebration of Life on March 25, 2023, at Davis Community Hall in Davis, Illinois from 2-6pm.

His family wants to extend their appreciation to Hospice for all their help during his illness.
