Robert A. Larson, age 61 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. He was born June 15, 1956; the son of Robert P. and Ilene (Garland) Larson. He graduated from Freeport High School and went on to receive his Associates Degree from Highland Community College. Bob married Christine Boeke on August 6, 1977.

He owned and operated Larson Automotive in downtown Freeport for 30 years. Racing was his passion; he owned Larson Motorsports and managed several race cars and drivers over the years, including both of his children. He also loved crossword puzzles, playing FreeCell on his computer, and socializing with friends and customers at his downtown shop. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife, Christine Larson of Freeport; parents, Robert and Ilene of Freeport; son, Jeffery (Ericka Thruman) Larson of Freeport; daughter, Jessica (Adam Dyson) Larson of Freeport; grandchildren, Keeli Larson, Brayden Larson, Kamden Larson, and Jayce Dyson; step-grandson, Daylon Stark; sisters, Amy Mullens of Freeport and Dana (Craig) Marshall of West Gardiner, ME; nieces and nephews, Jared May, Cassandra May, Trinity Marshall, Michael Marshall, and Natasha Marshall; and his dog, Coco. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Larson.
