Obituary

Freeport-Robert A. Plum, 86, of Freeport, died Monday, August 23, 2004, at home with his family.
Born October 13, 1917 in Lanark he was the son of George and Minnie (Wood) Plum. He married Margaret R. Rinderman February 9, 1948.
He was a local carpenter who retired in 1980 and then raised mink and finn coon for several years.
A World War II veteran, Robert loved to hunt, trap, and fish in earlier years. In later years he enjoyed woodworking and always loved to read.
Surviving is his wife, Margaret of Freeport; sons, Robert P. "Smokey" (Cindy) Plum, John A. "Opie" Plum, and Michael L. Plum all of Freeport, Eugene W. (Jeanne) Plum of Ridott; daughters, Patricia A. (Denny) Dietmeier of Ridott, Marsha M. Plum of Lanark, Deborahlynn P. Smith (Earl Moote) of Madison, WI; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; 4 sisters.
Funeral service will be Thursday 11 a.m. at Walker Mortuary. Friends may call Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established in his name.
