Robert R. Aebly, age 89 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home on Thursday, July 1, 2021. He was born on August 19, 1931 in Orangeville, IL; the son of the late Ralph and Ida (Kuhnke) Aebly. He married Vera Swanton on July 31, 1952.

Robert served in the United States Army from 1952-1954, stationed in Korea during the Korean War. He worked for Kelly Springfield as an inspector. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Freeport. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He also enjoyed going to casinos and playing solitaire. He loved to be outside, especially mowing his lawn and trimming his trees.

He is survived by his wife of almost 69 year, Vera Aebly of Freeport; daughter, Sharon (George) Crase of Freeport; son, Douglas (Laura) Aebly of Freeport; grandchildren, Bubba (Jenny) Crase, Brittany (Steven) Euer, Kody Aebly and Kole Aebly; great grandchildren, Nathan Crase and Charlie Euer; and sister, Joyce Leverton of OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Roger and Harold Aebly.
