Robert Lee Carroll, age 72 of Lake Summerset, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, passed away at home on Monday, April 26, 2021. He was born April 26, 1949 in Morrison, IL; the son of the late Dan and Dorothy (VanKampen) Carroll. He was a graduate of Morrison High School. Bob married Gloria Workman on August 11, 1972.

He had worked at General Electric in Morrison and later at 3M in Cordova where he had 25 years of perfect attendance. Bob was also a volunteer fireman for the city of Morrison for 15 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and cutting wood for his fireplace. Most of all, he loved his family, especially spending time with his grandkids. He will always be remembered as an honorable man who was well known and respected in his community.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Carroll of Lake Summerset; son, Christopher Shawn Carroll of Lake Summerset; daughters, Ronnie Jean Carroll of Sterling, IL, Bobbie Jo (Dexter) Watkins of Lake Summerset, and Terrie Jo (John Adams) Carroll of Morrison; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Janice Stage of Fulton, IL and Mary (Larry) Eads of Morrison; brother-in-law, Glenn Landherr; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daniel Carroll; sisters, Linda DeGroot and Donna Landherr; and brother-in-law, Donald Stage, Sr.

The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 4 ^th at 12:30 p.m. at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota, IL with a visitation beginning at 11:00. A memorial fund has been established for the Morrison Fire Department. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
