Robert L. Magee 71, of Freeport, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born July 27, 1940 in Belvidere he was the son of Claude and Mabel (Stroup) Magee. He married Jacklyn Weier August 30, 1991.
Robert was a long time Greeter working for Wal-Mart in Freeport.
Surviving are his wife, Jacklyn of Freeport; 1 daughter, Wendy (Don) Fox of Tennessee; 3 sons, Robert Magee of Bennett, North Carolina, Bryan (Alicia) Magee of Jonesville, Michigan, and Shane Magee of Texas; 8 step-daughters, Dawn (Kenneth) Rowe of Rockford, Debra Smull of Freeport, Donnell (Jim) Eads of Shell Lake, Wisconsin, Darcell (Robert) Snyder of Monroe, Wisconsin, Delanna (Andy) Erickson of Monroe, Wisconsin, Delores (Alex) Holloway of Rockford, Doreen (Alan) Schiess of Lena, and Donita (Frank) Verdier of Oklahoma; 3 sisters, Iona (Norman) Ashley of Rockford, Sandy Henderson of Tennessee, and Jean Waller of St. Petersburg, Florida; 2 brothers, Jim Magee of Colorado and Larry Magee of LasVegas; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 sister in-law, Mary Magee of Beloit, Wisconsin; 1 brother in-law, George Mohr of Rock Springs, Wisconsin
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister; 2 brothers; and 1 grandson; and 1 great grandson.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Walker Mortuary.
Burial of his cremated remains will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
