Robert M. Miller 86 formerly of Leaf River died Sunday June 28, 2009 at Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron. Born January 8, 1923 at Morganfield, KY he was the son of Roscoe and Lydia (Willett) Miller. On November 16 1943 he and Helen Nesemeier were married at Chicago, she preceded him in death September 7, 1988. A WWII U.S. Navy veteran he worked in the Dakota and Freeport areas for many years in the water softener business. Robert enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by 6 sons Bob (Ruth) Miller of Leaf River, John Miller of Leaf River, Steve (Marilyn) Miller of Shannon, Tom (Connie) Miller of Leaf River, Jim Miller of Lena, Richard (Gina) Miller of Leaf River; 4 daughters Carol (Charles) Anderson of Poplar Grove, Nancy (Steve) Nichols of Burlington, WI, Cathy (Tim) Bowker of Mt. Morris, Christine (Jimmy) Regan of Pavo, GA; 30 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, grand daughter Mary Ann, 2 brothers Joe, Bernard, 3 sisters Peggy, Connie and Mary Ann.
Visitation will be Wednesday 4pm until 7pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home 115 S. West Street Dakota.
Funeral service will be 10 am Thursday at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home and burial will be in the Rock Grove Union Cemetery at Rock Grove.
A memorial has been established in his name.
