Robert Steinhauser, age 92, was lovingly taken home by our Lord on Saturday, January 20th. Robert was born August 29,1931 in Kansas City, Missouri to Edward and Opal Steinhauser. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He farmed a dairy farm in Freeport for many years.  He worked for Chrysler in Belvidere and for FS Farm Services until his retirement.  He enjoyed traveling and went on many bus trips and cruises.  The great loves of his life were his family, animals and his country.

He is survived by his five children: Chuck Steinhauser (Sheila), Forreston, Candy Thomas (Paul), Freeport, Cynthia Colley, Freeport, Debbie Vinnedge (Doug), Oakland City, Indiana and Robin Buchler (Matt), Fennville, Michigan, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, grandparents, only brother, 1 sister-in-law, 3 nephews and nieces and 2 great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 22, 2024, 10 – 11am at Walker Mortuary.  A memorial has been established in his name for the Friends Forever Humane Society.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com.
