Robert De Wayne Hartog, 71, of Freeport died Monday, March 17, 2008, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born July 25, 1936 in Freeport he was the son of John and Freda (TerHark) Hartog. He married Bonnie Canfield September 25, 1960.
Robert worked for School District 145 serving as a Bus Monitor.
Surviving is his wife, Bonnie Hartog of Freeport; his sons, Brad (Jen) Hartog of Freeport and Brian (Cindy) Hartog of Rockford; his daughter, Beth (Tim) VanHamme of Bradenton, Florida; his brother, Stan (Pat) Hartog of Rockford; 2 grandchildren, Kyle and Carson Hartog.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, John Hartog; 1 sister, Jeanette Hartog; and 1 grandchild, Jackson Hartog.
Funeral service will be Friday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Mark Balmer of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday 5 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
