Roger C. Grabow, 90, of Freeport, died Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born January 26, 1925 in Clarno, Wisconsin he was the son of Otto and Chlora Belinda Grabow. He married Sylvia R. Harnish November 17, 1946. She preceded him in death December 23, 2009.
Roger was an independent contractor and also worked for Meiers Construction.
He was a U.S Navy veteran. He was awarded the Victory Medal Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign with 4 Battle Stars. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion serving 4 terms as Commander and he was a member of the 40/8.
Surviving are his children, Linda (Nelson) Snavely and James (Nancy) Grabow both of Shannon, and Susan (James) Boeke of Freeport; 10 grandchildren, Troy Boeke, Brian (Carol) Boeke, Terry Grabow, Amy (Scott) Schoonhoven, Kristopher (Jessica) Boeke, Naomi Schaney, Rob Wilson, Marcie (Dave) Blevins, Shawn (Mary) Wilson, and Heidi (Jon) Miller; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 4 brothers; 9 sisters.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Walker Mortuary with Pastor Don Jamerson officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday September 8, 2014 from 5-8pm at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established in his name.
