Freeport: Roland J. "Bubby" Suttman, 75, died Friday June 11, 2004 at the Freeport Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Born April 13, 1929 in German Valley, he was the son of Benjamin and Mildred (Pals) Suttman. On May 14, 1955 he married Gloria M. Klaus in Freeport. He attended Pleasant Prairie Academy in German Valley and was a graduate of Leaf River High School Class of 1946. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ for over 45 years. He worked for Joe Rosenstiel for many years and then worked at Kelly Springfield Tire Company until his retirement in the early 1990's. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching car racing. Surviving is his wife, two sons, Craig (Louise) Suttman of Forreston and Randall (Anita Summers) Suttman of Stockton, one daughter, Noreen (William) Clemmons of Appleton, Wis. One sister, Ilene (LeRoy) Boomgarden of German Valley. Six Grandchildren, Benjamin (Adrian) and Curtis Suttman all of Dakota, Jason Baker of Belvidere, Matthew Baker of Appleton, Wis. Lisa and Peter Suttman of Forreston. Two Great Granddaughters, Madison and Grace Suttman of Dakota, One Aunt, Laverne Kocher of South Beloit and many Nieces and Nephews. His Parents preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:30 am at St. John United Church of Christ with the Reverend Dr. Donnley Dutcher officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Garden. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 pm at Walker Mortuary. A memorial has been established in his name.
