Obituary

Ronald Milton Chappell, 82, of Estero, Florida, formerly of Freeport, Illinois died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at his home in Florida
Born March 26, 1932 in Highland Park, Michigan he was the son of Harold and Eva (Haack) Chappell. He married Norma Jean Harnish February 24, 1956 in Freeport, Illinois.
Ronald served in the Korean Conflict 1951-1955.
He spent 30 years at the Freeport Fire Department and 30 years with RS&D Ready Mix in Freeport.
He was an avid Euchre player. He and Norma enjoyed camping through many U.S. States and Countries. He thoroughly enjoyed his "Fire Truck" golf cart in Florida where he received first place in the St. Patrick Day Parade last March.
He was a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Surviving are his wife of Estero; one daughter, Marsha (Kirk) Shelly of Davis; his sister, Margaret (Dave) Nichelson of Anoka, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Stacy Shelly, Pamela (Tyson) Wales & Scott (Angela) Shelly; seven great grandchildren, Kade, Reid & Macie Wales, Brody & Emma Shelly, and Braden & Alexis Cook; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Tamera, one brother and one sister.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be held in Freeport at a later date.
A memorial has been established for Hope Hospice.
