Ronald Thiele , age 83 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Provena St. Joseph in Freeport. He was born February 17, 1935; the son of the late Frederick and Iola (DeWall) Thiele. He married Emma Jean Godard on March 22, 1957.

During his life, Ronald was employed by Micro Switch and G-Line Trucking. He was a 50 year member of the Eagles Club of Freeport. He enjoyed model trains and trucks. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had the sweetest smile in the world.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Emma Jean; sons, Donald (Michelle) and Randall (Laurie); 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Roger (Barbara); sisters, Janice (Richard) Lehmann, Jeanette (Otis) Cox, Shirley (Donald) Marcum; and nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, June.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 20 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
