Rosa (Rose) Donaldson, 87, died September 7, 2025 at Parkview Home in Freeport, IL. She was born in Comstock Park, MI on December 5, 1937 to John and Karolina (Futterer) Trampel. She was the fifth of eight children. In 1958, Rose married Richard (Dick) Donaldson in Oregon, IL. He died June 19, 2011.

Rose graduated from Oregon High School in 1955. She and Dick had five children - Rick, Kim and Timmy, Mike, and Michelle. Rose worked with her husband on the dairy farm they owned near Ridott, IL. She also worked as an x-ray technician and at local factories.

Rose was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Freeport, IL. She loved gardening, crocheting, and sewing. She was a devoted and loving mother. In particular, she was a fierce advocate for her son Rick, supporting him in his work at Malcolm Eaton and serving on Malcolm Eaton's board for several years. She was a kind and caring grandmother who always had a supportive word, a warm hug, and an ice cream stash at the ready for her grandkids.

Surviving her are one brother, David Trampel of The Villages, FL, two daughters, Kim (Dale) Weitekamp of Raymond, IL and Michelle (Greg) Guilliams of Freeport, IL, and five grandchildren, Sarah Weitekamp, Sam Weitekamp (Emily McGrew), and Anne Weitekamp, all of St. Louis, MO, Jeffery Guilliams of Holly Ridge, NC, and Danny Guilliams (Bridget Doherty) of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six of her siblings, and all three of her sons.

A memorial has been established in her name for Malcom Eaton Enterprises of Freeport, Illinois.  There will be a visitation held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic church in Freeport, immediately followed by a service at 12pm also at St. Mary's.  Her final resting place will be at St. Mary's cemetery in Oregon, Illinois next to her husband and son.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com .
