Freeport-Royce E. Rutter, 79, of Freeport, died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born June 26, 1925 in Freeport he was the son of Clarence and Mae (Fluegel) Rutter. He married Gerry A. Ayres August 1, 1947.
He was a graduate of Ferris College in Big Rapids, Michigan. A World War II Army veteran he was in the Battle of the Bulge and a member of the VFW.
He worked for Economy Fire & Casualty Insurance Company for 33 years retiring in 1983.
Surviving is his wife, Gerry; son, Daniel E. (Nancy) Rutter; daughter, Janet L. Rutter all of Freeport; grandson, Jeffrey (Penny) Rutter of Madison, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Chaplain Don Swanson of FHN officiating. Interment of his cremated body will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
